Define What the Wall Must Accomplish
A wall may create a grade transition, protect a usable area, or support a planned landscape change. State the intended result before discussing dimensions.
Photograph the entire slope, both ends of the proposed wall, and every nearby structure or concrete surface.
- How the upper and lower areas will be used
- Where water appears to enter or leave
- What structures sit near the proposed wall
- How a mobile crew can reach the area
Review the Site, Not Just the Length
Wall length alone does not describe elevation changes, access, drainage, or connections. A property visit helps define the questions the estimate must answer.
Avoid moving soil or changing runoff before the visit if those conditions help show what is happening on the property.
Confirm Scope Before Scheduling
The written scope should identify the intended area, agreed dimensions, access considerations, and surrounding surfaces discussed during the visit.
